Yaniel Agrafojo is a self-taught artist born on December 17, 1984, in Guanabacoa, Havana. From a young age, he had an acute photographic memory, reproducing images of locomotives and trains in every detail of their parts, down to the smallest. His social behavior was limited, very introverted, and he demonstrated scant communication skills while growing up. His interest in drawing and detailing the faces of famous singers with the application of the technique of chiaroscuro and drawing with colored pencils also grew. He began to face bullying problems in high school and, taking refuge in his family, his escape was drawing. He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (autism spectrum behavior).
Through drawing, he channeled his concerns and frustrations until with help and specialized advice he overcame his social difficulties, and also improved his work, developing photorealism through the technique of drawing with colored pencils and achieving a meticulous level of detail that manages to amaze any viewer.
