The piece consists of a series of images extracted from catalogs or books of artistic themes. The design of the pages is digitally intervened, overwriting some of their texts and eliminating part of the central composition of the images for a white background.
This procedure removes any trace of composition inside the represented artworks. The process of hiding and crossing out information will be repeated over and over again in each image presented, and is assumed as a tool that allows the viewer to contemplate the reading of the piece.
In Painting, the posters are provided with more information, since they have the possibility of creating a perceptive framework of the image through the titles and other details provided about the authors and their works. The original authors are crossed out in a gesture of challenge that exhorts the viewer to investigate according to his or her horizon of expectations. In this way, it will be the public who consolidates the role of the "unknown artist" as the sole creator of the images.
